Almost time to leave China

Well friends, today (Monday 18th August) is my last day in China and then I make my way to the hold of a 747 for the trip back to the UK from Hong Kong.

My last day took me to the famous Summer Palace which is where the Emperor lived in the summer when it was too hot for him at the Forbidden City.

As you can see this chap was somewhat surprised to see a nice bag from the UK with the Union Jack sat in it, it was a great trip but I will be glad to get back to Porthleven in Cornwall.

I am hoping to go on another trip very soon when I do I will let you know when and where. See you soon, "the bag"

As patriotic as I could be !!!

Today ( Monday 18th August) Again I had to be up very early as, with the complements of some friends at Kodak, I have been given a ticket to the Basketball this morning however, because of security at the venue and the distance from the bag store I am staying in,  it meant I had to be at the stadium for 8 am, ouch.

Unfortunately the GB team where not competing but Australia was, so I decided to bring my Union flag and use it to support our brothers & sisters from Australia.

This picture was taken outside the basketball stadium, although I was looked at rather strangly by a few of the security people there when this picture was taken as bags on their own, in the open, are seen as a security issue here so I nearly cause a major security incident - even the flag did not give it away that I was just a tourist.

I go back in time !!!!

Well today (Sunday 17th August) has been amazing so far and it is still morning, my host picked me up from the hotel bag store very early as we had a 2 hour drive to see the Great Wall of China, well a section of it anyway.

What was amazing was that after a thousand years with millions of people walking on it the wall looks fantastic, where I come from we have a similar wall in our harbour that after a hundred years and only a few people walking near it has fallen down and unlike the Great Wall of China, is an eyesore to the village.

As you can see from the picture it was busy and there where lots of other friends of mine being carried by their owners from all different corners of the world, although, being a Sunday there where lots of locals, there for the fresh air and cool breeze.

Later today we are off to the Olympics again, I will update you again when I get back.

Forbidden or not Forbidden, that is the question !!

I made it, today is Saturday the 16th August and at last I am here in Beijing, last night I went to the athletics in the "Birds Nest" stadium which was awesome, what was amazing was seeing so many of my relatives from different countries being carried around by the athletes with all there accessories in, they must have been so proud to have been there.

Today, as you can see I am visiting the famous Forbidden City which is where the old Emperor of China lived, if you want to see a great view, have a look here. I am not sure who I am meeting or seeing tomorrow but it is very exciting.

Where in the World am I and who am I with ?

Well my bag blogger friends, I am still away in the far east en-route to the Beijing Olympics which I can not wait for, however, whilst on my travels I met up with this character

Hong Kong is a great place with lots of shops, restaurants and tall buildings but also with some great sites. I went to a great shopping area called Stanley Market which was full of small shops selling all sorts of things including lots of friends of mine from Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuittons and Prada. A must place to visit if you go there.

I hope the next time you see me I will be in Beijing.

I am on the way to the Olympics in Beijing

Today (Wednesday 13th August 2008) I arrived in Hong Kong en-route to the Olympics in Beijing and after a 12 hour flight decided to do some shopping and then..............

I found the shop that I aspire to be from, the Prada shop, just because I am made from eco-friendly material and come from a small, but great village in Cornwall, does not mean I can't have aspirations.

Hopefully, the next time you see me I will be in China, getting closer to the Olympics, ohhhhhh, I can not wait.
